Would you
like to live at the French House? Are you a UW student? Have you had
the equivalent of 4 semesters of college French, or 4-5 years of high
school French? Keep reading...
The residents of the French House are
a diverse group of UW-Madison students who share at least one aspect
in common: their love for the French language. All residents demonstrate
at least a conversational-level of French and make continued progress
throughout the year because only French is spoken within the walls
of the French House. The linguistic experience of each resident is
further enhanced by the presence of at least two native French speakers
who live with the residents and who are eager to share their culture
with their new American friends.
The French Houses 13 single and
10 double rooms are comfortably furnished and air-conditioned. There
is a formal living room, a large dining room, two TV lounges, a library,
and a study room. Room and board includes three meals per day (1 brunch
on Sundays) when classes are in session. Room and board rates are
very competitive with those of UW-Madison residence halls. However,
the opportunity for independent living in a practical and intellectually
stimulating environment makes the French House an excellent choice
for residence.
If you are interested in living at the
French House, please download, print, fill out the the application
