The French House is located in downtown Madison, just off campus, two blocks from State Street, on Lake Mendota.

Directions to the French House

Pedestrians: From University Ave (3 blocks south), State Street (2 blocks), or Langdon (1 block), take North Frances (north) towards Lake Mendota. We are on the right on the lake.

Drivers: Please do not try to find street parking near the French House; it is next to impossible. Park in the Frances/Lake St. Ramp. From University Avenue, turn north on North Frances or North Lake and park in parking ramp. Exit on foot on the Frances side of parking garage. Cross State Street (on a slight diagonal to the right) and continue on Frances to the French House on the shore of Lake Mendota.
